OK, so like I said, your internet is fine. It's the small part of the internet known as the web that you're having trouble with. If you have Firefox open and you click the File menu in the top left corner, is Work Offline checked? If it is, uncheck it, and you should be able to browse the web. If that's the case, this is a duplicate of bug 191889 which is that Firefox defaults to Offline mode when you don't use Network Manger to connect.
By the way, I think earlier you asked if there was any other way to connect than System -> Preferences -> Networking. The answer is yes, by using Network Manager. It's the little computer icon in the top right corner of your screen. If you click it, it should let you choose between the wired network and any available wireless network. If you are experiencing the bug mentioned above, it would get out of your way when you use that applet to connect. -- no internet available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279872 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
