Public bug reported:

This bug is sooo annoying. The X-Server just crashes unpredictably. This also
means that I'm not able to reproduce the problem.
Often it is triggered, when I click some link in Firefox 3, but I also
experienced it when running the django (a python framework) server on localhost.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 with GNOME and experiencing the bug about a week now.
The kernel is 2.6.24-19-generic. Installed are python 2.4 and 2.5.

The error-message is like:

Oct 15 19:10:17 x10 kernel: [ 630.608208] python[7875]: segfault at
00000002 eip b754cf10 esp bfbbaa40 error 4

and is listed in /var/log/kern.log, messages and sys.log.

What happens is the same as if I hit Ctrl + Alt + Backspace: The
X-Server restarts and I have to log in again. Please help, because this
makes, especially when happening every few minutes, the PC ununsable.

I hope, I have described everything reasonably well. If you have any
questions, please ask.
