I suspect the beagle-search script is being interpreted by dash not bash
- dash doesn't support the -a option for exec.

I don't get this problem on Edgy with 0.2.9-1ubuntu3 installed. This is because
/usr/bin/beagle-search starts with #!/bin/bash - ie explicitly specifying that
the script use bash.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using and which version of Beagle?

Cheers,
