I have been amazed by how this bug never seems to be fixed... Is it because no core devs have this chipset and use 3d applications/play games? Is it because the bug in fact is several bugs grouped into one bug report and thus maybe only some part bugs are fixed?
This bug's existance was the reason that I bought a laptop with Nvidia graphics instead, despite potential sleep/hibernation problems and shorter battery life. I waited 4-5 weeks first, hoping that the bug would have been fixed meanwhile, but then went and ordered...
