[Bug 198918] Re: Big fonts Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon with Activated Visual Effects I have had many bugs with the 8.04 version, this was one of the It and was rather common with the Intel video card, I saw on the forums. But when I tried to go back to Gutsy I had the same problems . With the 8.04.1 version many of my problems are gone, only in the startup procedure I cannot read my name, the dots of the pasword are golfball size. But I am very glad I am back with Ubuntu. A Suse 11, nice distribution, but the fora are nothing compared with Ubuntu, further codecs were very difficult to apply.
Now I have you, I want to report something totally else. When I wanted to go back to Ubuntu all installations crashed in different ways. I deleted and formatted every time all the directories before installing, but no result. Then I deleted them secure, made windows directories and formatted them. Deleted them and than the new install succeded. Obviously by deleting and formatting on the same places as the old ones there were still remnants that caused problems.
