Kubuntu FAQ page says that Kubuntu comes with a simplified Konqueror profile, and how can we change Konqueror back to the default KDE profiles ( see http://www.kubuntu.org/faq#defaultkonq ) but I can't check just now if that information is accurate in Kubuntu 8.04 or 8.10 RC
