Manzur: your issue with starting session is due to compiz in Intrepid on your video card (Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE). See bug #259385. Solution is to boot to safe mode, apt-get remove compiz compiz- core, and restart. Should be fine, though without compiz effects. Patches are being worked on.
