Yes I found exact same issue further more upgrade from LTS also failed with dozens of errors.
So when I finally decided to do a clean install Grub failed to install and resulting in the reported error. Also worth mentioning that installing from live session will never go past the loading partition utility and result in more errors. 8.10 is definitely worst now then it was when on Beta 2... In fact I would have thought this was at all not ready for release.
