it's working on my computer (also an amd64).
apt-cache policy gdc gives me:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache policy gdc
gdc:
Installed: 4.2.4-2ubuntu2
Candidate: 4.2.4-2ubuntu2
Version table:
*** 4.2.4-2ubuntu2 0
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/universe Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
So it seems that you're not using the latest version.
Can you try with version 4.2.4?
