Even further experimenting confirmed that this bug has nothing to do with FLGRX
or the FOSS driver for Radeons
- I was getting the corruption using the FOSS driver before
- I just tried suspending using the FLGRX driver (after the switching fix) and
no corruption happened
- It's not the FOSS driver either because I am not getting corruption with it
any more either
Thus, through elimination, it must have something to do with compiz,
specifically the way compiz is set up by default by the installer
(because it now works fine after fiddling with it).
