Thanks for the workaround, but do I have to kill pulseaudio everytime I log in into my computer and want to use skype?... I'm a newbie with ubuntu, so I'm going to ask a beginner's question: what does pulseaudio really do? Do I really need it? or could I get rid of it? could I disable it somehow?
