Thanks for your bugreport.
Could you please run:
$ sudo apt-get install -f
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
$ sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
and attach the output of all those operations?
I suspect this is a false positive caused by network failures on
download earlier (that were corrected with a second attempt to download
the missing files.
