Ian, I have difficulty believing this is your concept of assistance. If I could figure out what that "tech language" you want me to employ was about, the problem would be fixed. One of the thins I do is write step-by-step instructions for non-technical people who are being trained to use highly technical equipment. I understand the difficulty in being both is why I got to do it. I barely got through an understanding of Basic. I have looked at Pascal, Fortran and Cobol. I haven't looked at anything else until I became so upset with Microsoft that I couldn't stand it. I hate trying to troubleshoot via email because of what you just did. If you want help, my numbers are below. If not, I'll find another way to get this working (I always do).

Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Running Ubuntu 8.04 with Soundblaster24 sound card (original equipment). Immediately after logon, get 'drum roll' announcing Ubuntu. Afterwards cannot get any sound over speakers. Tried going to sites with video (news) and running music cd. Saw a fix for Soundblaster16 problem that may work, but (been a long time since I wrote anything) don't recall how to write additions to bios files. Have no ability to print! Printer, Compaq 1500 (and Soundblaster) show in directories. Just not accessing when command is given. Both were functioning prior to loading Ubuntu over Windows ME. -- Sound missing after logon. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276763 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
