I was able to repeat this using the same phone on a totally different laptop running 8.10beta (not updated). Again, the OS is crashed/hung. Different phone on same laptop was OK.
I tested with an old SonyEricsson, and it worked OK, but - NM showed duplicate menu items - two identical choices for GSM modem. - does not add default route if I already have a wifi LAN connection. (I think it should.) The Nokia 6120c is a very popular 3G symbian phone. Also, my E220 USB 3G modem is not detected by NM on the updated laptop, though it did work with 8.10beta.
