Being the author of the much quoted http://blog.drinsama.de/erich/en/linux/2008052101-iwlwifi-blinking.html and since I just also received an email about this issue, here are some comments.
First of all, **give changes 5 seconds to take effect**. When blinking was triggered, it will continue to blink for some seconds, even after you disable the trigger. Secondly, there is a good reason why I did not echo to radio and assoc. If you re-read the end of that post: "It will still blink when connecting (leds:iwl-phy*:assoc) and indicate if the connection is available (leds:iwl-phy*:radio)." Blinking while trying to connect to a wireless network is good ("association state"). I'd like to have the LED flashing when the network connection is currently not working right. P.S. I believe the driver authors have removed the flash-on-every-packet behaviour of the LED to reduce load. Because that is what it used to do: turn the LED off and on for every single packet. -- Intrepid: WLAN LED blinks incessantly on iwl3945 | iwl4965 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250211 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
