I'm having a similar problem. I upgraded from Dapper
2.6.15-28-amd64-generic to Hardy 2.6.24-21-generic. My motherboard is an
Asus K8N-DL with dual dual-core Opteron 265s.

Someone suggested downgrading to 2.6.24-19-generic, but this did not
help.

I also have the same disparity between blkid and mdadm --detail --scan:

[flynn(~)] sudo blkid /dev/md0
/dev/md0: LABEL="/boot" UUID="1bf7749f-4e58-4c5e-b468-3bf1c68ee3be" TYPE="ext2"
[flynn(~)] sudo blkid /dev/md1
/dev/md1: UUID="98gRlw-r7yl-4qoo-5kgw-TsY4-tCTC-Dtsj1e" TYPE="lvm2pv"
[flynn(~)] sudo mdadm --detail --scan
ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2
UUID=c026cb25:71c8d2e2:fedf0373:1b5eadff
ARRAY /dev/md1 level=raid1 num-devices=2
UUID=c5ad1aa8:f3f83ec7:bc2e2a49:9e49e51f

I'm going to try some older kernels and see if I can find any luck.
