I have just updated (and rebooted just to be sure). The menu entry: "System->Administration->NVIDIA X Server Settings" does not ask for a super-user pasword. So consequently it can't write to /etc/X11/xorg.conf. This will greatly confuse non-technical users and there is no sensible message to explain the problem either:
"Unable to create new X config backup file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup'." doesn't exactly tell the whole story now does it? -- nvidia-settings crashes when user clicks Save To X Configuration File https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
