People from Canonical just adapt the kernel for the ubuntu distribution.
Kernel is made by the kernel developers - the most talented programmers
in the world who are willing to invest their free time in developing the
best operating system ever.

It is possible to install the 2.6.27 kernel on the 8.04, but this will
be as much the same as doing an upgrade to 8.10, because most of the
software in intrepid's repository isn't much newer that those in hardy's
repository. Or am I wrong maybe?
