Then we have to find what is calling hdparm. Can you try making a new
/sbin/hdparm with this content:

#!/bin/sh
pstree > /tmp/pstree.$$

and make it executable with "sudo chmod 755 /sbin/hdparm". Then you
should get some pstree.* files in /tmp
