[Continuing my unfinished post] I just noticed a different sound mixer setup and can now hear sound when turning on the "Speaker" channel. Today I started Windows on my machine. Maybe the mixer setup is different after a "warm reboot" from windows to linux? I am not sure yet, but I will check that sometime.
