Hi,
you reported this bug a while ago, is this issue still a problem for you?
If so, can you try run vlc in verbose mode from a terminal, reproduce the bug,
and attach the output?
At least in Intrepid the command is "vlc -v2", but i'm not sure if it is the
same in earlier versions. Run "vlc --help" if you are unsure.
Also, at least for me, vlc logs into my ~/Xsession-errors file. Please
attach that one too after the bug has been reproduced.
