There were a few bugs the past days about missing sound. Just by chance:
Can you enable sound again by setting PCM in "alsamixer -Dhw" to 80 or so?
And unmute the channels, if it is muted. You see that it is muted, if a |MM| is
under the channel and unmute with the key M. Also you try an "alsactl restore".
