Lothar, Well, I'm not sure what "anything special" might be. Here's more info that might help:
I used Ubuntu's Synaptic Package Manager (I'm fairly sure it's just a nice graphical frontend for apt) to download and install xorsa. I proceeded to fire it up (xorsa that is) and poke around with the main goal of determining how to get those nifty 3D graphics of orbits, etc. I discovered that you must first integrate some orbits to enable the rendering buttons. I managed to do that successfully and got the 2D plots and Keplerian plots, but whenever I clicked on the 3D rendering button, it would die. I've attempted the 3D rendering repeatedly, but it consistently kills the entire program (which is, of course, no fun at all). I've only gotten it to generate a crash file once (I think). Normally, it just keels over and disappears. I have started to wonder if the problem might be in my graphics hardware. I'm uncertain if my embedded video hardware (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3000) is compatible with OpenGL, which I believe drives xorsa's 3D rendering. I was just about to research that when I saw your email. I'm assuming that the crash report will tell you everything you need to know about my processor, memory, etc. Please let me know if I can give you more info. (sorry, I dumped the bug report) I'll contact you if I manage to generate another one. Thanks for the quick response. Did you do anything special with xorsa to make it crash? Or will it crash right from the start? Can you attach the bug report as a separate file?
