I'm experiencing the same problem. I've just installed Ubuntu 8.10 (32-bit) into the latest VMware Player 2.51 (build 126130). My Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 USB mouse didn't work at all during the installation phase, I had to use ALT-keys instead. After installing, pressing the left mouse button only works correctly while hovering over the Applications menu. I get only get the Places and System menu to appear if I click on the menu bar to the right of the Firefox/Email and Help icons.
For everywhere else, it's also out of synch with the mouse pointer's actual location. The RMB context menu appears, but selecting an option from it is impossible with the LMB. When group selecting items on the desktop, the highlighted rectangle is out of position. I can't click on the software-button update to see if that cures the problem (as the out-of-synch position would be too far off-screen to the right). I'll try Kubuntu 8.10 next to see if that suffers from the same affliction. I've also installed prior versions of Ubuntu (6 and 7) into VMware player without any USB mouse problems such as this. -- mouse location wrong in vmplayer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291732 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
