Charlie, the bug is described pretty clearly. When mousing over the
cover art, the virtual desktop changes. Since it's Xubuntu, I'm
confidently guessing it's xfdesktop's default shortcut to switch
desktops when scrolling over the desktop.

As mentioned upstream (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=547734):
"it seems that the mouse events are being ignored by banshee -- and picked up 
by the underlying desktop."

belovedmonster, are you using Compiz/Desktop Effects? If so, could you
test with them disabled? That seems to be the only workaround mentioned
upstream.
