I have the same problem with a Mini Dell 9. The solution in commet 23 just worked fine for me.
Kernel version is: Linux [hostname] 2.6.24-19-lpia #1 SMP Tue Jul 29 14:02:05 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux -- I cannot connect to any server.
