I am so sorry, yesterday, i was quite tired and wrote spin UP but i ment spin DOWN!! which is a different story!!! embarrassing.. well, i fixed the subject now, my apologies.. the spinUP times are ok so far, i tweaked around and have chosen different apps for battery-time (like browsing with opera is far less disk-agressive than firefox)
but back to the subject: my disk spins down after 5sec, i have set laptop-mode to spin down disk after 30sec, but it is ignored, also after restarting / rebooting. $ sudo hdparm -S 12 /dev/sda is being ignored, too. now my bug-question: could this be related to pm-utils? ubuntu seems to be moving slowly towrds pm-utils... could it be, that my settings are being brutally overridden by pm-utils? ./usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/laptop-mode script seems to point to a non existing file (/etc/default/laptop-mode).. should i disable it and see what happens? thx again -- Disk idle timeout settings (30sec) of Laptop-mode are not being respected, disk spins down every 5sec https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
