That's hard to say, from what I read the .28 kernel has some brand-spanking-new stuff in it. Supposedly, it works in Intrepid as is. I've been poking around on random forums and blogs and found that there are quite a few people now who are temporarily adding the Jaunty repos` just long enough to steal the new kernel and it's been working for them. There are a few other's whom compiled the kernel and had success as well. I also heard there may be problems with that new kernel and nvidia drivers, but it may have been remedied.
