** Description changed:

  Continuing the reports from
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/196409

I reported the bug for 2.6.27-10... then i had removed the fglrx driver that
i had installed via envy-ng and it booted correctly again.
I switched to the Ubuntu fglrx a week ago. it worked, even though i used the
laptop rarely.

Today it the bug occured again a few times, but this time it does'nt
stop at 32000 any more, but resets to 0 and keeps on with the udevd
messages... the system doesn't allow switching consoles but reacts to
  ctrl-alt-del with a clean reboot.

  first i tried:
booting into 2.6.27-11-generic rescue mode - worked. choosing resume ended in
the endless message loop again.

  second:
booted into rescue more, fixed the X server and rebooted: success!

so i will not touch the fglrx for a while and stay with the default open
source driver. this is a sad situtation, but as an owner of an ATI
graphics card i am used to a lot of problems ;-)

OK.. i hope this helps in finding the bug.
