** Description changed: Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-17-rt I am using hardy, with the linux-rt kernel and the nvidia-glx (not new) driver. Also, I patched /usr/bin/compiz with INDIRECT="yes" to fix a memory leak in nvidia drivers. Some times, when compiz starts, Xorg hangs using 100% CPU. Switching to VT works, and I can get it working by replacing it by metacity. With metacity, everything works fine, but any GL application (e.g. glxinfo, glxgears) hangs or is using 100% CPU. When this happens, /var/log/Xorg.0.log contains repetitive errors like : tossed event which came in late mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping. I already repported that at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24/+bug/197130/comments/72 but it seems to be a different bug. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub [8086:27a0] (rev 03) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:01cc] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] [10de:01d7] (rev a1) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:01cc]
