** Description changed: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-177 After having updated from Hardy (8.04) to Intrepid (8.10), there are a number of annoying bugs. The most important is that when closing the lid on my Lenovo Thinkpad T61p (NVidia Quadro FX570M), X crashes. Symptoms of crash is X screen being displayed, but no further reaction (no cursor, no keys, no...) - system hangs and requires a reboot. Testing has been done with Nvidia binary drivers 177.80 and 173.14.12 (legacy version) with symptoms being the same. Also tried SAVE_VBE_STATE=false and POST_VIDEO=false in /etc/defaults/acpi-support, but no change. Edit: Disabled console framebuffer (set vga=normal) seems to fix this. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a00] (rev 0c) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:20b1] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation Quadro FX 570M [10de:040c] (rev a1) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:20d9]
