So, the applet appears in the panel and I can use it. - It seems that the applet gets started to early in the session. - And the preferences panel in the output tab only lists the Intel-HDA Analog and not the Digital output. But that´s maybe another bug. I have to use alsamixer to get the sound routed over S/PDIF.
