For the agp mode, I did not changed it because, when I ran livecd to install Intrepid, I got a "frequency too high" message from my flat screen. So I ran livecd in "no error video mode" (as read on a forum) and installed Intrepid without problem. (I wrote in first post that I got a messy video , but this was an error ... sorry !)
I changed in my very basic xorg.conf the "vesa" to "ati" and rebooted. I got the "frequency too high" message, then hit <ctl><alt>F1 to change back on vesa in xorg.conf and rename the Xorg.0.log that is joined to this post. Sorry for the delay, but my CPU fan lost a piece ... and I had to replace it (not very easy on a 5 years old machine) ! ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log when vesa is replaced by ati in xorg.conf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21443930/Xorg.0.log.ati -- [RV280 9200se] no visual effects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313262 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
