there are two webcams i can't get working, which makes me statistically assume most of the people are having problems with webcam and interpid ibex
Mustek Gsmart Mini - it's gspca compatible, which i think is the norm followed from the largest ammount of webcams, and worked fine on hardy heron, but no way working on interpid ibex - following all instructions, and tried all the ways, unsuccessfully. Apple MacBook iSight - it's a built in webcam, and my MacBook is version 2,0 - some online instructions (like https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AppleiSight ) used to explain how to extract and install the firmware - isight.fw file has 6d4b6764538e85ab9e7e15ed21b7a60c md5sum, but when placed at /lib/firmware/ , after shooting down as asked, the Ubuntu hangs on console boot after some 'unable to enumerate USB device on port 7' messages, appeared scrolled, between 30 and 50 times - and i only can boot Ubuntu after it when i remove this file when booting from a live- cd. -- webcam should be assured to always work out of the box https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320879 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
