I have an hp pavillion dv5-1120us, and cannot record sound using my internal mic. I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 x64, kernel 2.6.27-9-generic. I have tried all of the audio settings in both sound recorder and audacity, without success. I also tried installing and uninstalling pulseaudio and alsa packages, without success. Currently I have the device set to HDA ATI SB (Alsa mixer) in audacity. I ran the also script, results here:
