Hi, This may not be a bug but I think it leads to confusion for everyone. May I suggest changing the comments in /etc/default/ntpdate as follows,
# The settings in this file are used by the program ntpdate-debian, but not # by the upstream program ntpdate. # # ntpdate requires a server parameter, for example: # ntpdate ntp.ubuntu.com Also, I notice that the script file /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate seems to work. It is not obvious to me how the script know what time server to use. -- ntpdate fails to get a server from /etc/ntp.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
