Sorry Mike, I have no idea where I got the name Thomas from :) If you attempt to save changes to a network with a name starting with 'Auto' the changes will not be saved. This should be in the documentation, if not then you have a valid documentation bug. For Network Manager, this is not a bug but rather it is intentional. To save your changes, you will need to give the connection a name that does not begin with "Auto". "Home", "Ethernet", "Main Connection" are all valid names that can have changes saved. You will still see 'Auto eth0' in Network Manager, that won't go away, but you can choose to connect to the other one instead.
Please try to set a static IP address again, but this time before saving change the name of the network, and let us know if that works. Thanks in advance! -- gnome network manager - setting static ip https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318437 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
