Hi

Unfortunately I am currently in Spain and have no internet connection (I am
currently replying to you from an internet cafe), so I cannot download the
latest version and I have not got the machine to test it on.

Obviously, I will be keen to do this when I am next in UK, but this may be some
time yet.

Thanks for your interest

Upgrading from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04, I have two intel pentium m/cs using dial up
so I used the Alt CD downloaded elsewhere (on broadband). Both m/cs dual boot
Windows Xp and Ubuntu and on the m/c with single Ide hdd all was fine. On the
other m/c with 2 Ide hdd's and a Sata hdd on a pci card (with 7.10 installed on
the Sata hdd and Windows on first Ide hdd)the upgrade failed to complete so I
downloaded an 8.04 new installation CD and tried a new clean install. In partion
manager, custom partion, it put the Sata hdd first (7.10 install had put it
3rd).Installation seemed to run OK but Windows properties were not
found.Following installation neither Ubuntu nor Windows would run following the
grub menu.I then edited the grub menu to relocate Ubuntu from hd0 to hd2 and
windows from hd1 to hd0 and took out some maping and the system now starts.
However update manager now says I have over 200 updates of over 200Mb, sounds
like a screwed up system - I notice also that my usb modem is behaving
erratically.> I have repeated everything on my other pc and all is fine there
so my cd's should be ok.
