To geordie It sounds for me, that you are experiencing different problem than described above. For those affected #280762 DHCP works fine. The problem for us is that we cannot connect using static IP from KNetworkManager GUI using normal mask, we have to use cryptic (like 24.0.0.0) numbers. After a few months and hundreds of Kubuntu patches nothing changes. KNetworkManager still defaults to DHCP.
