The new config file also specifies that the cache_effective_user and cache_effective_grp will be "squid", which is a real pain on ubuntu where all the /var directories are installed as owned by "proxy". I'm not sure, but gadmin-squid may be creating the "squid" user behind the scenes without notification -- a real security flaw.
