Is this a problem with the package you're downloading, or a problem with how you have your video card set up?
Make sure you have the "mesa-utils" package installed, and run "glxgears" from a terminal. This will bring up a pop-up window that should show a set of interlocked gears turning. In the meantime, every 10 seconds or so, the terminal window will print out a message about the number of frames per second that you're seeing in the pop-up window. While this is not intended as a benchmarking tool, it is an extremely efficient test of whether opengl is working for you. Make sure that glxgears stays running for half a minute or more before you close it. If your pop-up window only shows black (no gears), if your fps show less than 1000, or if glxgears after printing only a couple fps messages before crashing, then something needs to be addressed with your card setup, and this is an appropriate place to deal with that issue. If glxgears runs fine, and you're still having problems with this one package, I would suggest that its more likely there's a problem in the package that needs to be addressed with the author of the package. In that case, I would follow the bug tracking tools for the package. -- nvidia-glx-96 driver for mx 440 causes problems with desmume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324864 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
