In case it helps, bug 264290 has some info and links about coretemp
reading 15C hotter after the changes introduced in 2.6.25.  It's purely
artificial, since coretemp apparently never claimed to be giving
absolute temperature readings.

 Although I think this bug is about actual overheating, not just weird
readings from coretemp.  But If anyone thinks they're having this
problem, they might just be misled by coretemp; It's something you need
to know about.  BTW, my E6600 desktop is still working great with
Intrepid, and now with Jaunty's kernel on Intrepid, finding new and
interesting ways to lock up the g965 Intel graphics drivers.
