Here goes the xorg.conf fixed for 1280x800.

I don't know if the problem got something to do with the display which
is using a dual-link DVI connection.

When I tried with Ubuntu 8.10, I got the same problem. But I managed to
install it using a different monitor with smaller resolution (which
doesn't use dual link).
