Hello, Suspend has never worked on my laptop. When I do click suspend, the screen turns black and there is a flashing underscore at the top left corner of the screen. The computer fan still goes (so I know it's working just as hard even when this is happening) and the only way to get the machine functional again is to turn it off by the power and and turn it back on that way.
