Kubuntu has kgrubeditor installed by default. Although it would be fun if my software(startupmanager) was default in ubuntu, it might not be the best thing since ubuntu has made changes in recent versions that causes problems with the way sum works. See https://answers.launchpad.net/startup-manager/+question/57671 Since kgrubeditor seems to work better with recent versions of ubuntu, that might be a better choice for a standard ubuntu install if someone makes a gtk frontend for it.
