This bug is also relevant to the Logitech MX5000 keyboard and mouse. Upon reaching the GDM login screen, neither the mouse or keyboard is functional until the USB Bluetooth dongle is removed and re-inserted.
If I can remember correctly, I have had this issue since 6.06. I have since started using a wired keyboard, but maintained the use of the Bluetooth mouse. After logging into my system, the Bluetooth icon is displayed in the notification area, then disappears when I remove the dongle, but doesn't re-appear upon re-inserting.
