It hangs as shown in the attached picture. After 5 minutes, I do get a
busybox shell. It is complaining about not being able to mount
/dev/hda2. In /dev, I don't have any hd*, but I do have sd* instead.

So, it is clear that the upgrade path is foobared.  So, the only fix is
to patch /etc/fstab and menu.lst by hand to use labels instead of device
names? Ugh...

Does anybody know a script that will read in the fstab and generate one
with labels?
