And to me it also happens more frequently when working on battery, but right now, after resuming from stand-by it shows the dimming problem also when connected to current. this seriously affects workability when not plugged to power. And I also encounte the same problem as Andy Walker, that the brightness OSD seems to hang for up to a minute but the rest of the system works (without changing brightness) - this mostly happens directly after resuming from stand-by.
