I've been using my ailing system for upwards of 4-5 hours now without
difficulties of any kind.  Consequently, it would seem that one of the
browser addons; possibly Firebug; is/was my problem.  I report this with
considerable hope since I'm rather busy just now, but recognize that
since the difficulty has been occurring randomly, there remains the
possibility the problem is merely hidden by it's random nature.  The
fact that it failed twice while doing a Python compile of a lot of
Qoodoo.org code continues to give me pause given that the browser was
not (at least to my knowledge and from all outward appearances)
involved.  I have moved on from trying out Qoodoo for unrelated reasons.

I'll report back in a day or so if my system continues to perform with
its historically robust fashion; or less if there's another failure...
