Well, I tried to downgrade to the older network-
manager_0.7.1~rc3-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and network-manager and network-
manager-gnome_0.7.1~rc3-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and my broadband connection
reappeared, but, all the same, could not get connected, so I upgraded
again and also applied all the new updates and, after reboot, my
connection is again listed, but it's not working.

Right now I am using wvdial and this time, at this very moment, I am
connected.
